I'm having the same issue...I have to try cranking it a few times before it finally starts. It clicks, clicks....then I wait a few seconds and it fires right up. Haven't looked at the starter yet, but I did replace the battery. Im betting it's a bad connection on the starter (like a loose ground) but let me know if you fixed it and how you fixed it...it's getting pretty annoying

If it is cranking and not firing up I would take a look a the fuel pump. When you initially put the key in the ignition the fuel pump primes the rail, but sometimes that function can fail and when it does it takes some cranking over for the fuel pump to get enough fuel to the rail in order for the car to start. I haven't had that problem with my GS, but I had it with me Denali and it took me a little while to figure out the problem. Not sure if that helps, but at least something else to take a look at.

So monday the starter issue came back . It wouldnt crank over when turning the the key. I managed to get it started after several attempts through out the day. Brought the car to my mechanics and it turns out solenoid in the starter sticks when cold which means i have to replace the whole unit.

Just got a price for 221 for a rebuilt starter.
