So while I was changing out my headlight after a fender bender, I noticed my old headlight had this thing



I'm guessing its the ballast? I'm not very good with elctrical stuff.

My new headlight is missing the ballast and doesn't have the necessary holes cut out for the ballast. So my question is can I just install the lights without it or could I some how rig it to have the old ballast work with the new headlight? TIA

 

it looks that your old headlights were HID and new are not

 

You can always use aftermarket ballasts they should work fine with the bulbs

 

I think you replaced your old headlights (HID) to Halogens (NON-HID)

 

Looks like no more auto-level for you. Sounds more of a downgrade to me.

 

Yeah well I left my dad in charge of ordering the part since he got in the fender bender and caused my cracked headlight. I guess I'll take it into my own hands and return the headlight for a HID one. Another week driving around with a cracked headlight -____-
