Default Key shell keeps breaking

Good afternoon all! I have replaced my key 3 times now and my current just broke on me again! Of course I have been using the same shell off of ebay. Is there one that is unbreakable?

I'm also on my third. I've been using the spare for quite some time now. I gotta order some off of ebay again. I am thinking about switching the key to the flip out style though. I know some members on here have that as I remember seeing a thread on it.

You guys need to stop sitting on your key or throwing them around.

I've had my car 14 years now, still on my original set.. looks almost brand new..

This almost happened to me i turned the key and heard a crack. Sounds dumb but i took a tooth pick and gorilla glued the case along the seam. It actually feels stronger than ever. No problems since on the original 1998 key

OP you should hold the key from were the screw is at when turning the key in the ignition, less stress on the key.

THIS...

I remember my key was getting weak and i was holding it from the same spot to turn on my car.
one day my girl had to start the car for me and she didn't know how weak it was. shattered the key.
I couldn't start the car at ALL. but seriously just make sure to hold the strongest part of the key when starting

for the link u guys posted for the key fob (flip key), does the chip fit directly right in? all is needed is to cut the key?

my concern is trunk button, unlock, and lock keys dont match up or so modding is needed, the cutting part is easy.

on the side note, how much is it to cut keys?

from reading some old threads the metal part is actually a little too long and a trim is needed. the older model hits the wipe arms so be aware of which model flip key you buy.

I got two flip keys and they were cut to my key code from eBay for 49 dollars. Be warned the flip key is almost as big as my cell phone
