I picked up some 799 heads from the junkyard a couple weeks ago, and cleaned them up last week. They've been sent to AES to have the o-ring grove machined into them and possibly to be ported since they're a rougher sand casting. I hope to get a timeline of when the short block will be completed this week from AES, as they were waiting on the heads to order the pistons given the cc's of the heads.

I told AES is was in no hurry, but I hope to hear something definite this week on the shipment of the engine from Brian. The major components are all ready for assembly, block's machined, crank's ready, forged rods are at his shop along with the custom cc forged pistons. His engine builder just got back from Dubai today, so hopefully the short block gets assembled and shipped this week.
I still need to pull the engine and trans out of the GS, and get it sold, and sell the 5.3L I bought last year. The 5.3L short block and heads I initially bought are all cleaned up for someone who "only" wants to make 500-600hp. I need to get the initial 5.3L sold to make some room, it's getting tight in the garage.

Subscribed to this thread -- cannot wait to see the end result with this build!
This is better than a TT Supra build because the GS's have the sleeper look going on in stock form.
00Formula -- what part of NC did you pick this up in? 7 hours back to TN makes me think you might have been in my neck of the NC woods!

I don't know if I've seen any turbo LSx swapped GS's, so it may be the first if/when I ever get my project done. I already have another set of stock 16" wheels to mount the slicks on for when it hits the drag strip. It should run 10's, but it might run 9's if I ever go to race gas or E85. Initially I want to start with 93 and methanol injection.
1sWt2GS, I don't have any exterior mods planned, maybe some suspension mods to help it hook up better. I guess it will be the inverse of your sig, all Go and no Show. hehe
Oh and the car was purchased in Raleigh NC from a used car dealer, who I think bought the car from a local dealership.
