Default dyno run for gs3

hey did anyone ran their gs3 to dyno?
I did mine today and I am surprised by result and dissapointed.
I know that I might loose some power since I am in denver because of level I live in, also my 18's might cause some power loss. But since factory output suppose to be around 220 at the crank I figure that would be around 176 at the wheel. now since I have srt intake and borla exhaust, I figure I would have gained around at least 20hp. thats 196 at the wheel. If I consider power loss to my wheel and my altitude of around maybe 10hp still I should be making around 186hp at the wheel but my dyno came out to be 162 at the wheel!. Maybe this run was error but I am very dissapointed. I just want to compare my run to others.
help.
thanks

it could be those 18s.

it could be that SRT intake don't work with other exhausts, etc. There has been talks of SRT intake not working up to their dyno claims but I don't know, never used their products.

I would go to another DYNO Machine that is to low the 18s should not hurt you on your dyno I dynoed the same that I did when I had my 17s as with my 20s but I have the GS400. Do you know what gear they used I think 4th is a 1 to 1 so must shops used this gear. If I'm not mistaken I seen a GS300 dyno STOCK more than what you did, so that should concern you! Just ask around someone should know what you should DYNO at. I hope this helps.

Try putting the stock airbox back in and see how your numbers change. The intake thing is starting to make me wonder. I've had so many problems with trying to use an aftermarket filter.

well this isnt exactly a gs300 but there are several examples of is300s with you setup and dyno results. here is one with almost your exact same setup. now i dont know the drivetrain loss and all of that jazz, but i do know that he has a 5 speed auto, so hopefully this will help.

Per GS400_PUSHER, dyno results can vary unit to unit, I'd at least go to another shop as a sanity check. Were you running any octane boost? How many pulls did you make?

You need to take a buddy with a stock GS300 next time around. Yeah, numbers vary by car but it provides a little control.

Unfortunately, 160-170 rwhp with a GS300 with this mods sound about right. I have seen at least two others with the same dyno numbers. I can try to throw my current GS on the dyno as wheel and see what numbers come up.

Thanks

hks,
can you run your gs?

I think I will have my car dyno'd at elsewhere just to be safe.
also do you think apexi s-afc tuning is good idea for me or not?
thanks man

I think LexusRules has the s-afc on his GS3, you might PM him for the lowdown. Also, remember that the hp figures quoted for aftermarket parts are not cumulative. In other words, if an intake is rated at 10hp and an exhaust is rated at 10hp, putting them both on will not net you 20hp (unfortunately).

kapdori,

I will dyno it once I get a chance to. Its pretty busy here at work and there isnt much time for me to do it just to get a baseline. Any sort of fuel tuning after mods are an ideal senerio. An S AFC or HKS Super AFR will help lean/richen certain parts of the fuel curve to obtain ideal a/f ratios, but many times on a NA vehicle I would not expect a whole lot of gain. Gains are typically very evident on turbo cars or cars that are not very tuned from the factory- and the GS doesnt really fit in those categories (a good and bad thing) let me know if you have any other questions.

Well I just talked to a good source and was told a STOCK 98 and up GS300 dyno around 160 to 165hp now with intake and exhaust you should have a tab bit more. I hope this helps.
