Anyone here with a '99 GS300 or maybe even a 98? What is etched in your windows, Toyota or Lexus?

 

My 99 says Toyota on the window

 

Ok good, i was a little worried about something. I bought my 99 gs about a month ago and has a clean car fax but i thought it may have been in a accident. because i noticed that the front bumper has been repainted. But that could just have been from a tiny fender bender or maybe even to repair rock chips i dont know. But i wasnt sure if the windows had been replaced. Another thing is that I have toyota on all of my windows and you can read it from the outside of the car. But on the passenger side windows it says Toyota backwards. You can only read it from the inside of the car correctly. Anyone know whats up with this?

 

'98 GS400 says toyota.. i think most of the cars will say toyota instead of lexus.

back on my ls400 it used to say toyota too but my friend had '91 ls400 and his car used to say lexus ..

 

Lexus switched from Toyota to Lexus glass markings in '01 due to customer complaints on the Toyota glass markings.

 

but what about my passenger side front and rear door window saying Toyota but it looks like it was etched on the wrong side of the window? You can only read it from the inside, from the outside you see atoyoT

? anyone ever seen that?

 

Well here is the thing...this sounds kinda funny but it is the truth...back in the day of my 1994 Supra TT I took out the oil pan and insted of it being stamped TOYOTA it said TOYODA...I bought the car brand spanken new....so to comment on your question...I think it is real...no accident...just my opnion...

Good thanks for the responses guys.... i was a little worried i mean an accident big enough to bust out the pass side windows heh. not good. So i guess they just screwed up then. Its not a big deal no one even noticed except for me, i notice all the little tiny things that no one but me would see heh

I bet you they called up corporate and said "I bought a Lexus, not a toyota!"
