Default weird door lock problem?!!?

If someone can help me figure this out that would be amazing. I have a 99 GS3 approaching 150k. I just got a viper 5901 auto start/alarm installed in my car and I just noticed this happening. If I press unlock either iinside the car or with the remote it will unlock and lock but if I go to press it a 2nd time in a row the driver door stays locked and won't open or close but all the other doors open and close every single time. The driver door ONLY opens and closes the first time then goes dead. If I wait about a minute and try it again the driver door works again. So basically the driver door unlocks and locks the first time ONLY. I'm not sure if this came from the autostart but I never noticed it before that cuz I only locked the door once usually. Could this be the door actuator? Or something that they did with the autostart? Any help is appreciated! Thanks

try looking it with the keys and see what happens. even better open the door and inspect the cable.

it happens with the factory key, and the viper key as well as even sitting inside the car and pressing the locks.

The front driver lock really seems to go dead after locking it and unlocking 2 times in a row. the first time it works, the 2nd time it just stays locked or unlocked. All the other doors work fine though.

This happens to me too sometimes but only with my fob. I think it just gets picky sometimes so I just unlock my door manually.

here's the best advice you're going to get:

Rip out the viper alarm.

I've seen more issues with ANY car that has one of those pieces of garbage installed and especially these cars with an anti-theft system as advanced as they have.

Furthest I'd go is a remote start and even then I'd be cautious.

Your ssaying the viper is a piece of garbage? Its definitely a better anti theft system then the stock one. Everyone says viper is as good as it gets. It does way more then the stock system so I wouldn't call it garbage

it may work well on civics and such, but the wiring scheme and computer systems in these cars is far too complex to put something like that in and expect it not to cause problems.

Anything that causes nothing but problems in anything I've ever seen it (professionally, by the way) installed in outside of a civic or celica or foxbody mustang, i personally consider 'garbage'.

agreed i use to be a 12volt installer to complicated to mess with and cliford > viper anyday but to much DEI bypass modules and all that if they wanted the car they'll have it. only remote start for the AC and heating while warming up before you hit outside, But everyone has their personal choice of what you would like in your vehicle it's jsut personal preffence but back to the topic. Can it be the cause of a weak actuator? did it happen right after install? or maybe the actuator is on its way out? because before mines gave they open and close untill after u mess around with it a couple times when its get warmer they stop working.

This happened to me in the past. I started by removing the Viper. Not sure if the installer did not install it properly but it worked fine after that. If that didn't work for you might want to take a closer look at your actuators. I would just change all 4 to be sure. I'm sure one of those two will fix the problem. At least it did with mine.

half the people installing these aftermarket alarm systems don't even know these cars have a door computer.
