Default Wheel help

I searched but couldn't find a good answer, Looking to pick up a set of 20's for the G ride, will be lowered on coilovers or air soon. My question is how wide can i/should I go? I was thinking 9 in the front and 10 in the rear possibly 10.5 in the rear. What do you guys think and could anyone point me in the right direction.

lol i guess i shouldve worded that differently, what I would like to know is how wide can I go before I'm going to have to start modifying things? If you read my post you would see that I searched and never found a concrete answer.

My asumptions.... 10.5inch rear wheel is max you can run, after that youll be shaving fenders and adding camber.... or is it a 10 inch... see what im asking?

You have to give us some offsets to be able to asses whether or not the wheels will fit with or without modification.

the answer is not there, the answers you guys are saying is examples of a width and an offset that would fit our cars, theres hundreds of examples of what will work and im just asking for a base answer. example.... 20x10 in the rear +5to +30 offset will yield no fender mods. catch my drift?

I dont have any offsets in mind, im a new when it comes to this as i never bought a set of wheels in my life lol I just want to be able to go look at wheels and be able to buy them knowing i wont have any surprises when i slap them on the G ride

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/the...for-gs400.html

20x8.5 front +36 to +44 should be fine with no rubbing and lowering, no fendor work needed whie using 245/35, 245/30,

20x10 out back +38 to +48 would be fine with no work needed, no rubbing and either a 265/30 275/30 285/30 tires.
I have 20 X 9 +38 in front with 245/35/20 tires and I have no problems unless I really drop her down on the coilovers. Occasionally I have a slight rub when turning the wheel full-on when backing out in reverse, but nothing significant IMO. Out back I have 20 X 10 +43 with 285/30/20 and they are fine. Of course the camber and drop height will have effects and if you are at stock height and no negative camber I think my wheels would rub the fender liner on bumps.
Also, tire brands run different with the same respect to size. i.e. a toyo might have a thinner overall stretch than a falken stretched tire. etc. You also have to factor in tire pressure as well.

Search for Rominl's 2gs/sc430 guide. That will be EVERYTHING you need. I have it soemwhere at home and if its still needed i will scan and post up a pdf version.

Yes it is. There are many threads that tell you what are the biggest wheels/tires you can fit with and without rolling/shaving. I just did a 5 min search and I could easily post over 10 threads that would have your answer, but why help someone who won't help themselves.

again, search and do your research. Every other day someone makes a new thread "will these fit". Like man man Vincent123 said....

There are a few people on here that have some nice wheels with great offsets, conservative offsets if you will. Pm them and ask what there offsets are.

in all fairness luda i think they are trying to help you. But to say whats the widest you can go is pretty vague. Like everyone is saying offsets play a big part in it. find out what rims you are looking at. There are plenty of ppl that are here to help you but to just give ask a vague question you can expect ppl to give you some flak about

http://www.lgwnorcal.com/articles/wheelfitment.html

thats his fitment guide, all i really wanted to know. I understand everyone is trying to help but when 90% of the people say search, search search it doesnt do me any good.

What i really wanted out of this thread was a rough idea of an offset i could run with a 9.5", 10", 10.5" rear wheel with waht type of tires without mods.... i have no specific wheel size or type that im looking at, I just wanted to be educated before diving into this project. Thanks everyone for their help.

Actually you misunderstood, yes I'm aware there are a billion threads asking what will fit. But I'm telling you there are also many thread telling you what can and can't fit with and without fender mods. If you actually took the time to and I mean actually search and take the time to read through the threads you would have found your answer.

It doesn't do you any good because you're not actually take the time to search properly. That link is nothing new in fact it was even in one of the threads that I searched. You may think I'm sounding like an a$$h0le but don't tell us the search "doesn't do me any good" when I can do a search and post 5 links within minutes to put your comment to shame. there are even threads dedicated that tell you members wheel fitments and whether or not they did mods or not.
