Mine does this, I've changed out EVERYTHING in the front of my car suspension wise, bushings, control arms, and the same for the rears but I've also got adjustable tie.toe rods and adjustable traction rods.

I've got the rear axle carrier bushing to change out and i'm going to do that next; its like $40 for the bushings. I figure I'll check that out then move onto any other mounts/bushings. If this doesnt work I'm selling the car and moving on.

I can handle stiff/vibration but ive managed to get rid of the shaking in my steering but i hate the fact that theres the clunking/can sound when going over bumps.

i had this problem with my stock setup. Then changed springs and shocks, still got the problem. Then switched over to coilovers, problem solved.

I have this problem as well. Happened before I got my new exhaust set up, happened after as well. Got coilovers. Thought it was my exhaust hitting my rear bumper. BUT STILL. I don't know what it is. I thought it was just me but I guess not .. I hope someone hints something else ..

i had a similar issue. found out it was the metal that went around the exhaust towards the headers. at the height i was at, everytime i went over a speedbump or drive way it would pick away causing it to become loose and rattle.

My exhaust heat shield broke off the other day, made the most embarrassing rattle I've ever heard in a car. Driving a Lexus that sounded like that sucked! I couldn't get it on a lift for a few days either.

My lower rear control arms, where they mount to the spindles, that bushing is going bad on both sides. Makes a bang every bump I go over, but doesn't sound like a can at all.

I'd say your heat shield broke.

Check your strut top hats--see if the bolts attaching them to the car are tight. Grab ahold of one the the exhaust pipes and move it around--could be loose exhaust bolts or a heat shield may be hitting the exhaust. One that hasn't been mentioned yet and I've only seen it happen on one car before--check to see that your front brake dust shields (the metal plate behind the rotor) isn't bent and hitting something on suspension travel.

Hope that helps.

You might want to check the brake pads. I had a knocking metallic noise coming from the rear. It were the rear brake pads making noise due to the absence of the shims.

Mine turned out to be a worn out strut. Hope you find out what your problem is.
