Since the weather is getting cold, my auto tilt function on the steering wheel is not working. At times it tilts properly and can be adjusted. Most times, it will only telescope in and out. When the tilt button is pressed up or down it "clicks" but does not move.
Anyone else had this happen? Could it be a bad solder joint on the switch?
It's more likely worn teeth on a plastic sprocket which can be repositioned with a plastic washer so that the lessor worn teeth line up better with the teeth on the other sprocket. I've seen more threads about this on the LS forum and there are videos on Youtube on how to fix it.
Yeah, remove the shell under the steering wheel and lube the whole mechanism (It's pretty obvious what parts need to be lubed) after doing this it should work fine. I've done mine a few times. Do a search actually I think it was posted in the sc300 section, but a quick search will locate the thread. Hope this helps.
Tell me how it goes, my girlfriend gs is doing the exact same thing. It only wants in and out... but it don't want to go up and down. I know what you mean by one click. It seems like the tilt motor is weak.

Exactly!
Will do. I hope to get to it this weekend
