Default Drilled/Slotted Rotors Options

Hey everybody, time to get some new rotors for my Gs and i was thinking some Drilled/slotted rotors. My car is black on back with gold writing. I ran across some gold looking rotors. I was thinking it might look good with the gold writing but i have chrome rims so it might clash. Your options will be appreciated. Also what kind of drilled/slotted rotors do you have. Lastly how long did they last.

most brake gurus will tell you Drilled is not really needed no a days because of better pad technology, in addition to potential stress that may crack your rotors, unless your applications are 120mph plus, circuit racing, and such. even then u still have to inspect your rotors after every event.

if you are going for looks which i think your post is leaning towards, id say get any ebay kit, any color or spray it any color, Pink, Green, Yellow, Gold etc and call it a day.

If you are going for performance, your better getting Brembo Blanks, a Good set of Pads, and hard lines. You can also spray both calipers and rotors gold if you wish.

BTW, the gold is not just a pretty color but a Zinc coating that will wear from the rotor bearing surface once you go for your first ride, it will remain on the hat to protect the exposed areas.

I put these on my GS and they look sweet - but they make the most annoying noise when you're slowing down in a quiet street.........sounds like a rat beating a drum.

just to clarify, you can spray the rotor hats NOT the rotors themselves.....
that would be silly and it would scrape off when you applied the brakes

Yes, what i do is Just spray the whole rotor focusing on the hats, some over spray may land on the pad surface area but will rub off on brake in period. you may want to take a sand paper to the surface to remove some of the spray also. No biggie

thanks. i like my SS lines but im keeping them and will reuse them on the LS calipers.

this brake setup has plenty of bite but now that i have all that dynamat and the heavy stereo setup i want/need just a little more braking power so i went to the LS swap, if its not enough or i want more i will do a BBK
