Who to order my engine set through? vvti 2jz-gte
Im ready to order an engine set, to do a gte swap in my '99 GS3. I want a NICE, CLEAN set, with EVERYTHING included. I dont want to go hunting a bunch of little stuff, ..and the ecu's seam to be pretty pricey, by themselves.
An ebay seller has a real clean looking set, with everything, for $2500. But, I think Id like to use a reputable place, in case theres any issues.
Ive ordered from Osaka in the past. With them, its a hit or miss. I dont wanna miss, ...so Im not using them. Is Jarco still consdered good? Any other suggestions?

Hey give jdmenginedepot.com a try. Thats who I bought my rb25det swap from when I started my nissan 240 build. I got the engine, transmission, harness and ecu for $1919 shipped to my door.

Ive found LOTS of places to order from. Im asking for those who have experience getting an Aristo engine set from someone. Tigerjapanese sells on ebay, also. Theyre the one I was talking about for $2500.

a couple questions:
1. isnt the non-vvti engine recommended for some reason? I cant remember why just thought Jeff Tsai said these a while back.
2. Dont all these engines mentioned come with 4 speed autos? and that it has to be used and not our current 5 speed?

The VVTi engine is recommended. It's more of a direct drop in for these cars. If you use the non-vvti then there will be a ton of rewiring needed.
GTE comes with 4spd auto. If you use GTE ecu then you need to run the 4spd auto. If you run the GS300 ecu then you run the 5spd auto.

i believe you will need a tuning program to make ur car run right such as
AEM FIC or some kind of emanage....correct me if im wrong..
i would used the 4 spd rather then 5spd auto as it just make it simple to use the gte ecu and plus it got to be a reason why they use 4 rather then 5 for teh gte version.... gear ratio and so...
