Unhappy Sub not working!

Hi all, I bought my MK2 GS300 SE last week after owning a MK1 for nearly 6 years
My problem is that the sub is not working... it's not the speaker itself as I have tested this and there is no power in the wires (i even hooked up another speaker - nothing).
Is there an option for the sub to be disabled at the head unit which may have been used, as I know the previous owner had small kids in the back? or has there been a wire/plug come loose? (I can't really see this being the case!).
Any help much appreciated as the system sounds pants without it!!!

Could be that the previous owner had an aftermarket head unit but put the stock one back in when he/she sold the car to you. I would start by removing the radio from the dash and checking behind for disconnected or poorly connected wires.

Is that quite an easy job to do?

remove ash tray (pull firmly to remove clips)

Remove upper a/c vents (pull firmly to remove clips)

a/c controls and radio connected together with plates on either side. Two bolts on top (behind the a/c vents you just removed) 2 bolts underneath (behind the ashtray you just removed) comes right out

That part i'm not sure of cause as soon as I got my car I rewired the whole car and eliminated the factory. I would think that is one plug from the deck to the factory amp with all speakers including sub on the harness. As fast951 said, check the harnesses for poor connections. They may have cut the wires to hook up their aftermarket deck, then did a poor splice job to put the factory deck back in. I'll do a little schematic search for the factory deck (as you should too ) I'm sure that question has come up before.

Cheers Mr Jokster . If you can't find a schematic I'll have a look tomorrow... my bed (& missus) is calling me now

I found this post:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/5446831-post9.html

gives color code for speaker wires. If its the same, then find the harness with those colors, then should have 2 more wires for the sub.

Thumbs up Problem solved!!!

Just finished stripping out the head unit etc and found the cause to the sub not working
The previous owner had fitted a Nokia hand's free unit, and after a bit of searching, found that the Nokia harness that takes the speaker output from the amp to the phone cut off unit had the 2 sub wires missing So just a matter of adding 2 new wires to the offending length of loom and VOILA!!!!!!!
Thanks guy's for your help!
