Question What's after the GS4?

Ok people, the time has come when the lease on my GS4 is coming to and end. Must say it's a piece of art and it's going to be hard to part with it. Keeping it is not really an option because i had an accident about a yr. ago and had some front end damage that i think that was never fixed properly.
Anyway, back to the question in hand......Hang around for the new gen. GS4's or the M3??

Any input would be greatly appreciated on this.....

Default After GS4.

What's up.
M3 is a nice car: it's fast, fun to drive, and it looks
great. But, c'mon, nothing comes close to a Lexus,
as far as a total package. It's luxurios (much more
luxurious than an M3), spacious (M3 can only fit two
people comfortably), powerful enough, and fast. And
don't forget the irresistable beauty of the GS's curves.
So my answer to your question "what's after the GS4?"
is the following "GS430."
Keep it Lexus, bro.

Well I would take a break until October and see what happens, isn't that when the new designs start to pop up?

yah wait till the new GS's come out before making up your mind, and if for some odd reason lexus messes up the look of the GS then you always have the new E-class it just looked amazing in MIB2 ( I cant believe I just sugested a benz )

I am having the same issue! I want to pick up a new ride this fall BUT what the hell is Lexus coming out with next? Was looking at a Gs or a LS, but damn would I be pissed is something like a Gs 500 came out 2 months after I just bought a new car.

M3 and GS, to me they are two different things. I think of GS as a SPORT LUX car and the M3 as a straight Sports car....

I understand it's 2 different cars, that's why i got the GS4 in the first place...it's both......sporty and luxury...I refuse to get the GS430 only because after i get that then there's gonna be a new design...i'm heading in the direction of just laying low till the new design comes out.....believe me nothing beats the ride and sporty features of Lex......

The new GS won't come out until the end of 03 or the early 04. If your lease is up sooner than that and you want to stay with Lexus then go for the LS or the ES or the LX because the new GX due in Dec. or Feb. and the new RX due in April or June. The GS Sport Design is nice too and the 03 model is about 3 more month with a little cosmetics. You can get a good deal on the old model also, in this case the RX.

Okay, NYGS400, reading your posts it seems to me that you love Lexus styling and reliability, but you don't want to get a new GS430 because of what the next gen GS might be. Here's my advice:

- Don't get an M3 because you'll be disappointed stepping down to BMW build quality and customer service. I say this as a BMW M driver who recently traded up to a GS430.

- Don't go for the GS300 SportDesign. As hot-looking as it is, and as much as I would recommend to many people, you'll still be trading down from your current ride and you probably won't be happy.

- If you love the current generation GS and would be happy with a GS430, then go for it. Don't worry about what might or might now happen with the next redesign! Especially if you're going to lease again, it's only a couple of years until you can trade in again.

You never said exactly when your lease is up or what you're really looking for in your next car. My advice assumes your lease is up imminently and you still want a sports sedan. If that's not true, I might have other opinions to share!

The lease is going to be up in 3mths, i'm just starting to look into my options before i run out of time and end up driving something i don't want to. Anyway, most likely i'll be test driving the SC430 soon enough and will stay with lexus. Had a ride in the M3 yesterday and it wasn't all that i thought it would be.......Anyway, thanks for the feedback and the insights.....learnt alot from this forum..Keep it up guys...good work!!

Default GS Issues

I've been waiting for a new GS as well, but it does appear it will come out in 03 sometime as an 04 model. I remember reading on insidelexus.com or somewhere that 03 will only have minor appearance upgrades... I'm itchin for a nice sedan, and the new 5 series and E-class are both coming out soon... AHHH hurry up Lexus!!!

Well if you're itchin' for a nice sedan, then the current GS should suit you just fine! Just because a design is NEW doesn't always mean it's BETTER. Case in point: BMW 7 series.
