Default Change default Climate Control settings?

Okay - I admit, this is a minor issue but I was wondering if anyone knows he answer.

Most of the time I drive around with the climate control set to vent the outside air with no A/C, the temp adjusted to minimum (65) and the fan set to the lowest speed.

Just letting to good ol outside air make its way into my 01 GS 300.

When I start the car, the air intake defaults to recirculate, so I have to press the button to adjust it to outside air.

Is there a way changing the default program to start up in outside air mode?

It would save me the terrible burden of having to press the air intake control button each and every time I start the car up.

Thanks

Yea it must be a huge task to hit that button

dont know about override, but you can always swap the wires around from behind

This can be done thru the "C-Best" settings, or Customize Functions, using the factory scan tool. AUTO is the default, it can be changed to MANUAL.

Hey - it defaults to recirculate - and I have to press the button TWICE, first to Auto and then to outside air.

Two presses of the button every time I start the car - gimme some sympathy - it's hard work.

I totally agree with you, I have been struggling to adjust to this car having a mind of it own too, and trust me, it is a nagging chore. Prior to this I had a 99 Acura TL and it always remembered the exact settings I had when I turned the car off. Now each time I get in the car, I have to push that button twice, stop for gas, get back in car, push that button twice, all day long!

But looking at the suggestion above, isn't that just for when you turn on the AC..? This problem occurs regardless of AC being on or off. But if anything would work please let me know coz I am not pleased with that default setting either.

Just leave it in Auto - 90% of the time it will be on outside-air. It just starts on Inside for the first few min. (unless it's REALLY hot in the car, or there is a bad exhaust outside the car)
Leave the fan on Auto too, it returns to low once the desired temp is reached.

Try Auto everything for a day or two, you might be surprised how well it works.

Yeah, I would love to have it default to FRESH incoming air too, but Ive got used to hitting the button twice everytime I start the car. When I use my CompuStar to remotely start it for A/C, Id rather it vent out the HOT CABIN air than recirculate that crap! ! LOL

When I was in my ex-gf's friend 's car today, I noticed her new 2010 Mazda defaulted to RECIRCULATE everytime she starts hers up too. So dont feel so bad.......LOL.

I usually just roll the windows down and turn up the fan speed to 3 bars and let the hot air circulate out while I drive for a few seconds, then roll the windows back up and turn down the fan speed to 1 bar. Probably more work than what you guys are used to, but it gets rid of the hot air fast. Texas heat ftl lol.
