Okay 2001 GS300 crazy window problem - it's possessed! If the window is down and I pull the window switch all the way up it should automatically roll up all the way by itself. But when I do this the window rolls almost all the way up and then stops and rolls back down (on it’s own) to a half way position. It probably does this 1 out of every 10 times. Any ideas of what could cause this or if anyone else has had this problem?
possible something on the track or its catching something telling it to re-open.... might have to pull the door panel off and look inside BE CAREFUL THOUGH if u break the actuator cable your gonna have to replace the actuator like im about to have to do for the same reason
You may have to take it to the dealer and get the motor "re-timed". Not the same as resetting the limits by holding the switches. They have to get inside the door and do it.
I have this same problem, the black rubber thing that seals the door is loose somewhere, run your finger through it (with your door open) and it should work, it has for me.
yeah open that bad boy up and take a look to see what's gong on. Don't our windows have a safety feature that if you roll it up and there's something in the way it will roll back down? Seems like something is tricking it to go back down when going up...Look at the door and inspect the seals and what not...maybe you'll be able to find the culprit....Good luck...
