Okay, so I don't know exactly what's going on or if I should be worried or anything.
This all started a few months ago. When my car is all warmed up and all that, I would back out of my drive way and then put it in drive.
Now here's the problem. Before, the car would start to roll forward on its own. Kind of like when you're at a red light and the person in front rolls up a bit, so you do as well. Now, it doesn't roll forward on its own anymore.
Anybody have this issue? It's not that it bugs me, I just don't know what is causing it and I want to figure it out because I'm having all sorts of other problems with my car.. My car idles around 450-550 RPMs.
My car was barely moving at idle and used to idle at very low RPM before I cleaned my MAF and Throttle Body. I used to have to press the peddle to get up my drive way and now my car gets up it with ease.
Thanks for your suggestion. I really should get to this, but I can't seem to find the time to do it.
Any suggestions on cleaning the MAF?
MAF Sensor Cleaner and they also have one for the throttle body also . Spray a a few times wait till it dries and your good to go. I use the CRC like this one.
Clean your MAF sensor. It makes a big difference. All you do is undo the 2 screws holding your sensor near your air filter. Take it out, unclip the wire clip. Then spray your meter and wiring on the module. Your meter looks like [lll lll). Spray the whole thing inside, outside, bottom, side slit. shake excess cleaner out. Repeat cleaning process if you please (i did). Then wait a good 5 minutes to dry. It says it evaporates fast, but just to be on the safe side. Whole procedure takes about 10 minutes. Hope this helps! btw i used to get close to 300 miles on a full tank before gas light turns on, now i get about 330-350 miles. ehh not much but itll add up!
do you now need to step on the gas pedal to pull out of your driveway instead of letting your car roll on it's own in drive? or is it just a red light idle issue? i would take a look at your battery's voltage to see if you need a recharge or replacement.
