Question, I have a fully functional spare key and I have a master to have a new key recut.

Can I just use the spare master and transfer the key and all the program internals? Or do I have to have a new cut recut from the master? The spare is fully programed and everything.

ok so the "remote" part of your lexus key, goes in the shell of the "switch blade" style key assembly.

the blade key in the "switch blade" style can be cut and can be used in our 98-05 lexus. is the transponder in the blade key usuable then?

basicly you just cut the new flip blade and unscrew your old key with the little electroic thing take it out and put it on your new shell... you dont have to pay lexus to program you another one.

the reason i ask is i bought a replacement key off ebay. it was a denzo one. i had to program the key itself thru this sequence in the car, then program the remote thru some sequence in the car.

so thats why im curious to know if i get oen of these, if i need to program the new key again.

gotta find those instructions =/

No, you will not need to re-program the key, since you are swapping all the guts of the key (transponder) to the flip-key. The transponder is what need's to be programmed, not the key blade itself.

^^^From his old key assembly ( key and transponder). Buy the new flip style case with a blank key, switch out the guts ( transponder) into the new flip key. Then go get the key blade cut to match your car. Done

Now I just have to find someone to cut the blade. The local dealership said they aren't going to cut a key that is not supplied by Lexus. Something about it possibly messing up their cutting machine. Stupid liabilities. They said try an automotive locksmith.
