Thanks!

If you got it from nycauto parts just email the guy, seems like they have pretty good customer service.

.... Inside your current remote you will need to take the transponder out and swap it into the one you get from nycauto parts, then get it cut.

So the key was cut finally and here are the pics! It works in all the stock locations and luckily I didn't have to cut the blade down any due to my remote starter having the chip inside the ignition.

Door lock

Trunk lock

Glove box

Ignition

QUESTION...when they cut the key down did they have to take the metal key portion out of the casing?

the locksmith that did mine cut the key down first with a hack saw. then he cut the key grooves. then i moved the guts over to the new case. also, they didn't take the blade out to cut the key. he just flipped the key blade to the open position and then he put it in his cutting machine as is. he never opened the case i was the only one who did.

^...no big deal to glue. Juat make sure you only use a lightweight glue like Elmer's glue. I would NOT/NEVER use crazy glue or epoxy on this because I know that eventually I would have to open it up to change the battery and such.

got mine, got mine cut, swapped over the guts inside (which looks like a flat square). will try in a bit to see if it works.

the only issue i have is the chrome part on the bottom where the key ring would loop through, mine seperates into 2 pieces, and 1 keeps falling out.

other than that, seems ok, the cut went ok, will see how things go.

my audi key looks similiar to the blade on these lexus' keys, and they cant get them cut since they are done by a laser.

im guessing we dont run into that problem??? just weird to me, since its the exact same key design.
