So i received my HIDs a couple days ago and was excited to put them on today when i realized my hood latch wont pop open!

When i pull the latch there feels like theres some slack so i went into my fender and pulled on the cable wishing it would open that way.. no luck!

any opinions or suggestions id really hate to take it to lexus if theres another ways around this..

do you hear a click at all? try giving a conservative fist tap on the hood to see if it pops up so you can pull the latch. could be a simple grease solve on the hook up front...

 

i didnt hear a click.. but you do hear the cable being pulled thats about it. i tried wd40 on the latch and gave it a good push and pull on the hood but it wont budge at all.

i read most problems with these cars occurs when closing it but mines closed SHUT!

need help guys!

 

i just called a local dealership and he said it will be about $60-$65 to diagnose and fix the hood... something is telling me there is a catch to this.

 

Have somebody pull the latch while you push down on the hood. SHOULD come up.

 

Having the same issue, what was the solution to this?
