So... someone pulling the lever inside would allow me to open it so what exactly is the problem here? I sprayed wd40 on the latch nothing so far... let me know what would make it pop like it used to? More wd40?

Pull up and down on the hood while a helper pulls on the latch inside the vehicle. The hood should come up. There are these two rubber plugs on the left and right side that put upward pressure on the front of the hood. They are adjustable and I believe they put more pressure by turning them counterclockwise and that may be your fix here. It was a fix for me. Good luck.

Is the cable attached to the release lever in the car? It is a thin cable clipped to it. You will need to pull the lever and, with a mirror or lying on your back, use a flash light to look for the cable. It may have become disconnected.

When I flick my release lever, I can hear the latch under the hood move. You may have a broken cable.

Good luck.

Warm up the engine for 15 minutes then Park the car in the sun and let the hood warm up and try doing the #4 tip...... If that doesn’t work try doing it when the car is cold like first thing in the morning.

THANKS to the member that suggested it.

Default Use a key.

Use a key to slightly raise your hood while you pull lever. A 1/4" inch raise should do it. Lift hood what little it will lift, insert key into gap and turn so key is supporting hood. Go and pull lever.hood should open. Most likely your hood lifts are gone.

This fix is much easier if someone lifts hood while you pull lever. But if you are on the solo creep, here ya go.
