Default Install heated seats???

I am interested in having heated seats in my 04 GS300. I am considering ordering an aftermarket kit. The generic installation instructions are contained in the following link:

http://www.heatedseatkits.com/installation.pdf

I am pretty mechanically inclined, but I have never done anything like this. If there are any experts out there, I have a few questions.

1) How difficult is removing the front seats?
2) Are there any airbag concerns?
3) Are the seats prewired for heat?
4) Is there any documentation on how to do this?
5) Should I take on this project? I don't want to mess up the interior of my car.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Arkie

1) How difficult is removing the front seats? easy. 4 bolts. connector. seatbelt.
2) Are there any airbag concerns? no
3) Are the seats prewired for heat? no
4) Is there any documentation on how to do this? in a service manual.
5) Should I take on this project? I don't want to mess up the interior of my car.

Sounds like a good project. Would be nice to buy oem switches and wire them up. You may need a used wiring harness for that part.

Did you go through with this?

I'm considering installing a heatedseatkits.com kit since its getting damn cold in WA.

Or has anyone done this on the GS? I saw the IS post about it.. shouldn't be too different I suppose.

I havent done it, but have seen it on dozens of vehicles that have aftermarket heated seats installed. I am a car dealer, they do work great BUT some get way too hot VS OEM with the heat level option.

I did mine about 4 months ago with the universal carbon fibre kits it was not to difficult of you have common sense I'll put up some pics of my install tomorrow for you. I would say it took a full weekend from Friday arvo till Sunday night but saying that I also installed headrest monitors since I had the seats out. The kits are great and get bloddy hot so make sure you leather condition your seats every month so they don't dry out and crack. You will also need hog ring pliers and all our cars heve the plug for factory seats next to the pwr button so you can tap that for your power source I did hit one snag tho I undid one of the nuts on the front of the rail which loosened the drive gear and now it's stripped and my seat won't move foward or back till I get a new one and Lexus does not sell that part. Ps would anybody have a spare seat gear ????
