no holes for sure.

it's an adhesive.

you can fishing wire it out or dental floss it out.

or if you have a heat gun, that's better, you just gotta know how to use it.

use some goo be gone or bug/tar remover to get the rest of the adhesive off.

and you're all the way nice.

What's involved in wetsanding? What equipment do I need or what's least expensive way to handle this? Thanks.

Wetsanding takes time and patience.
After you wash your car, get a bucket of clean water and some 2000, 2500, or 3000 grit sandpaper depending on how deep you need to go and gently sand it down. Make sure you don't go too deep. Clean off the area you just finished wetsanding and buff out the fine scratches left behind with a rotory/da and a good cutting compound. Then a lighter cutting compound, then wax, and then polish. Good luck!

best thing by FAR is 3M adhesive remover to get the adhesive off. when i did mine last summer i removed the eblems with fishing line, sprayed the trunk with 3M adhesive remover, wiped RIGHT OFF...no need for any kind of heat.

All the adhesive is off. It's the fine line that outlines the lettering and it's superfine and probably oxidized. I'm gonna try using Meguiars Ultimate Compound several times. Already tried Goo Gone, rubbing alchohol and WD40.

Will be doing this in the near future but I want to paint then black chrome and put them back on. Anyone know if the emblems get ruined? Does anyone know which adhesive to use to reinstall the emblems once painted?

there's a DIY on how to paint them black pearl . you would use 3m adhesive and trim around the emblem for a perfect fit .
