Default Need some Help indentifying...

Hi all, so I'm in the process of reinstalling my head onto the block and just notice something while I was cleaning the head on my engine. If someone happens to be changing spark plugs, could you verify to see if you have the cuts in the head around the spark plug hole like in the following pictures below. It is located on all the spark plug holes and freeze plug except the one that's furthest to the front of the engine. What I'm talking about is the cuts that is around the spark plug well where the spark plug wires sit. Is this normal or is my head defective??

I posted this on MY.is forum already, but I'll put it up here as well:

It's normal. Those are water drain incase water somehow makes it up there in a crazy storm or whatnot. It's also to drain water out for the morons that hose down the engine to clean it lol.

Thank you jeff. I was worried something was wrong with my head as I did not look at it when we removed the head prior to sending it out to be checked and decked. So where do those slits drain to if you don't mind me asking?
