Default im extremly upset

i woke up yesterday to find out that i had a flat . tonight i try to change it and BANg my freaking lug that uses the special key broke with the lug stuck in it and the rest still on the bolt .. is this a thing that happens often . i guess its cause lexus used a cheap lug that it can snap that easily .. any advise maybe to an after market one that i can get which is a better quality

That sucks, sorry to hear. Must have been over torqued or cross threaded at some point in its life.

They make a lug out kit. It's an impact socket that has a reverse thread on the inside. This is generally used for people who loose their keys or people like yourself that break it. If you can't do it yourself, then take it to your local mechanic. Good luck!

either that or if you have any 12 point sockets, you can get one slightly smaller than the lug and hammer it on. ive removed a few lugs that way.

either use a 20mm 12pt socket or use a bolt out socket.

not tried that one specifically but we sell a similar tool at work and i have used that although im interested in this one as it is less complex

It looks like it works really well, but is meant for on screws/bolts.

I don't think it'll work for the amount of impact torque needed to free a tire lug nut.

Even when you have full contact on the lug it takes quite a bit of impact. With standard trunk emergency tools, where you have complete contact on the lug, typically you can't remove a lug nut by handyou got to step on the handle with all your weight to free it (unless you have a breaker bar).
