A 1" tear on the trunk weather strip I found today, can anyone give me ideas to stop it from getting bigger? what can cause this?

I had the same problem...My carpet on the bottom of the trunk was loose causing it to make contact with the weather striping, ultimately tearing it. I just tightened the carpet cover and taped up the weather strip wit electrical tape.

Definitely an option but a large waste of money IMO. As long as it is still functional and not an eyesore in an obvious location just glue it up and spend the money on something better.

true abel but im so OCD i just replace it as eventually looking at black silicone or a glued weather stripping would just annoy me and eventually i would replace it anyways
