Received an OEM trunk mat for a 2015 IS350, P/N: PT206-53172-02
I cannot understand why the trunk mat was not designed to cover the entire trunk.
I understand there are side access panels for the spare, but the mat should still cover the panels. It doesn't take a lot of effort to remove the mat in order to change a tire.
Just wanted to share in case anyone is considering buying an OEM trunk mat and expecting the mat to cover the entire trunk.
On the right side - first aid kit. But, IMO that would have been better served with a few simple strap pass-thru holes. They probably figured it was too much for thee dumb buyer to comprehend.
Yeah, it's a pretty dumb design. I've since replaced with a Weathertech trunk mat, which covers the entire space. I'm with schur...why not put several holes in the carpeted mat for the first aid kit straps? I guess we'll have to wait for Gen 4.
It's like the weathertech cargo liner but only cost $80.99 which I've had in my trunk for about 2 years now. Works great with those leaky groceries you may get once in a while. One time my milk spilled from my gym bag in the trunk and this liner saved me a bunch of time from having to do a through cleaning of my trunk. Fits perfect and cost alot less than the weathertech one. I do have weathertech floor liners though, haha.
