1st time on CL, Bad AC problem help.
Hey CL members I'm Greg, this is my first post I am glad I found this site there are a lot of helpful people here. So I am asking your help about my AC problem.
Ok so you dont have to tell me that it was a bad idea, but I got my 2000 Lexus GS300 installed with a remote start. I got it done at a high end audio installation store for a good sum of money. One problem though, after they installed it and the car started and ran fine my AC started acting up. So you know how you can change degrees from 65-85(I believe its 85, sorry I don't use the heater in So Cal that much), mine goes from nice cold air at 65 to really nasty hot air at 66......:-( I dont know what they did and they have never seen this happen. They work on alot of high end cars and they are one of the best installers in my area. They asked me to post and ask about it. So all I have in my car is cold 65 degree air or hot air when I change it to 66,67,68,69----------85. What do you Lexus enthusiasts think happened?

Try to recalibrate your heating servo motors position sensors.
I cant fully remember how to do it, but you press one of the buttons on the AC as you turn on the ignition, this will give you the error codes. Then you press another button and this will cycle all the servo motors to recalibrate them.
If this fails its a new servo motor.

Edit,
Try this:
Step 1.
Turn on ignition lights ONLY when holding the AUTO + RECIRC buttons together. Any error codes will appear. 21 & 24 will appear if it is dark out(solar sensor).
Step 2
Press RECIRC and let the system do the auto-calibration cycle. Let this run 2-3 times, turn ignition OFF then start her up and see if it works!!!
If it fails, one of the motors is dead

There is a sensor for the in cabin air temperature behind the glove box. If it is disconnected the a/c system will act like that. It goes into fail safe mode because it does not know what the temperature is inside the vehicle. Just reconnect the sensor and you will be fine

Bumping an old thread but does anyone know where exactly this sensor is?
