Cool Your thoughts please..

Ok, maybe this is a dumb idea but I've seen some people do this. Spray paint my brakes red so it looks like the brake system that's on porsches. I'm about to change my tires so this would be the perfect time to do this. If anyone has done it here please tell me what paint you used and any other useful info. Thx all.

I have seen PLENTY of people do this mod, and it looks really good; better than the stock aluminum color. You need to get a can of brake caliper paint(there is a paint specifically for brake calipers both in a spray can as well as with a mini brush), mask off everything if you are going to do it on the car and then paint away. Would be a good idea to follow thru with a couple of coats for a deep color as well as some clear coating to make it last awhile. Some people that I know that have done this only have to touch it up or respray it once or twice a year as it does wear off.

You can find the brake caliper paint, in most cases at your local parts store, especially if they have a fairly decent touch up section.

it might be better pulled off on a red gs but other than that i'd suggest silver or black, but to each his own.

I went with a lower profile color, silver, on mine. I think red is too much for the stock brakes but this is only my opinion. Search for Painted Calipers - there are TONS of examples and colors to see. Here are mine plus some others red ones so you know what they will look like.

i'd go for black for a seamless clean look. Nothing too fancy... and very subtle.

I would stay with less flashy colors on stock brakes. Painting them red draws attention to them, kinda screams " Hey look at me, look how small I am!", LOL....but in all honesty I would stay with black or silver. Also, do your research on brake caliper painting kits, if you spend a little more it cones out WAY better. Spray cans look kind of plain jane IMO, use a nice enamel coat like G2 sells, they will keep the calipers looking nice and glossy.

Black FTW...Black car, black wheels, black calipers, dark tints

I like all white GS with a black overlay on the roof with black rims and and black calipers

black is nice. Im not too fond of red also on stock calipers, I'd rather paint mine Blue, like the IS-f blue or black.

agreed - i have an alpine silver GS and I painted them silver to match the car. if you're going to paint the caliper red - at least upgrade the brake calipers so it doesn't look like you're trying too hard.

Silver or Black, leave the red to a actual BBK.
