Yeah... I would use the cell phone to scan and see if it even recognizes the bluetooth system you have in the car.

With the car on? Is the device powered with the car's battery or an individual battery? I know that almost all new phones have bluetooth capabilities so it must be something with the car's bluetooth.

Does that hardware interface with the stereo or nav? I have a Bluetooth head unit in my GS and I had to use that to scan for the phone and not the other way around. If you can find out who makes the hardware, you can Google it and maybe find instructions online.

Take the one screw out of it and the get the part number off the back of it. Then hit Google and get yourself some operating instructions.

ok i just opened it and google the number. and nothing. and the hole that its in looks oem. its like a perfect place for it??? damn im confuse. could this be oem? its a 98 gs300
