Default Removing rear pillar trims?

hey Dudes,

i removed the rear wing from my 2GS and with it the 3rd brake light. Its a legal requirement to have one over here in West Oz, and though ive been driving it a couple of months without one, its also just a safety thing (personally the first brake light i tend to see on cars in front is the higher 'eye level' one).

So i bought a universal one and intended to mount it at the bottom of the parcel shelf, but its too narrow to fit so it is going to have to go up the top.

As such, im going to have wiring to run across the roof lining (can tuck it in by hand), and then probably down behind the rear pillar trims into the boot then wire into the rear brake lights.

So i ask you, how do i remove the rear pillar trims?? Do i need to remove the rear shelf and/or seats? they feel so soft and delicate i dont want to thrash them trying to remove them. Any tips would be awesome.

cheers
Ant

You could always go by the dealer and ask the techs, Its abit of a hassel for them but i always tell them that it'll take a sec and i just want to know how to remove this etc and they always bring a techician down. Maybe not all dealer are that nice haha

Im getting some tranny fluids there tomorrow so i'll ask them since im gonna be in the same situation.

heres a link to replacing rear subs. it shows you how to remove it. but i think there is a another link in there to show you how to remove the rear seats first.

Its not very hard at all. It helps to have a long panel removal tool. It's just pop in clips that hold that panel there, Nothing has to be removed, but it is easier to remove the rubber weather stripping around the door opening.
