Removing TTE lip
So lucky me some dummy in a truck decides to backup into me at a red light ( says he couldnt see me!) and now I need a new front bumper cover. The shop said they can maybe remove the spoiler but it may "crinkle". I installed it with epoxy and 5 bolts, using very little epoxy i may add.
Has anyone had luck or experience removing this or any body parts like this?
Should I expect to just have to order a new one?
Thanks,
Jim

Get some guitar string or go to Home Depot... they sell this wire used to hang up heavy pictures and mirrors. Separate one corner of the lip from the bumper and insert the wire... now go back and forth the entire length of the lip with the wire as if you were using dental floss...
just let them "crinkle" it as he hit you he has to pay for it....so you get a new bumper and a new tte lip THEN buy the bumper back from the insurance company and saw the bottom part of the bumper off so the TTE lip is still connected to it and sell it to me (that way i can remove it "Crinkle" free and have a good cheap used TTE lip

Just have the shop take care of it. If they can't take it off or fix it then have them buy another one and add it to the bill of the person that backed into you. Epoxy is tough to get off if your even able to get it off at all. From what I thought, Epoxy for the lip to bumper is pretty much permanent.
i know right.....
y not.....although i never seem to find ne! y would i want your greddy? im a bumper snob....plus u just got it. i know you already havent changed your mind?
see thats what i really was saying. he hit you. make them pay for it....but i want the old one. dare i say DIBS?
