anyone running fat setup + no wheel gap?
I'm currently on megan racing coilovers , 19's with 245/35/19's all around with no wheel gap and i feel its too low for daily driving. I find myself cringing whenever i see a dip or pothole because of the damn upper control arm banging. I don't want to cut holes in my bay, whenever i have people in the car the scraping/banging is worse (low spring rates i suppose)
I'm thinking of switching to 245/40/19's and raising the car accordingly while still keeping little to no wheel gap. Do you guys think it'll help? Its my weekend car and i just need it to be comfortable.

By switching from a 245/35 to a 245/40 you would be gaining a inch or less of tire diameter (.5in sidewall) and no extra tread width. If adjusting your suspension up half an inch will solve the issue then it will work. You can try this with your current tires.
This all depends on tire brands and actual measurements of the tires as not all the same "size" tires measure the same from one manufacturer. to the next.
Just a though - are you sure your bump stops are not hitting?

which is it?
Maybe adjust your damper settings?
If not, just run the fat setup, raise it accordingly, and call it a day.
imho, stay slammed~it's so much nicer (cant always have your cake and eat it

The guys running 20s with 35/30 series tire combos have been riding with the extra height for a long time. You can search for feedback on riding with 20s for the pros and cons.
If the offsets are OK, you should be fine. If I ran 19s, I would have gone with the fat setup too for that extra clearance and rubber.

thanks for the advice guys, i think i'm going to raise it for now and then get the fat setup when my tires bald. I love being low but if driving my car's going to be a chore or uncomfort then its the wrong reason i bought a lexus.
its my weekend car but i meant everyday driving. I don't think adjusting my damper settings would do anything since that would just adjust the rebound correct? if the loud banging is what i'm experiencing i'm guessing its because of compression of the springs?

Actually, it will. If you go with a stiffer setting, it will not compress as much as it would if you were on full soft. I have Megan's with 20's on 35/30 series. I was two clicks from softest setting and my tires would hit the fender lining. I set it to a stiffer setting which improved the rubbing, but ride suffered a little. I am about 7 clicks from softest and it still rides very comfortably.

Of course width, offset, and ride height are all variables here. I would be curious as to how the turning clearances are. I wouldn't mind running a 40 series sidewall to even out the overall tire circumference from front to rear.
Yokohama makes a 245/35 and 245/40 in the S-Drive that I plan to run, I will be running a 275/35 in the rear, I'm not sure about running a taller tire up front
