ok once again im still looking for away around cali laws lol.

so heres my plan:

swap the aristo in ,smog shouldnt be a problem as i can just pay someone to do it . my only other concern is getting pulled over and getting owned . im pretty sure the cop wouldnt know the difference between the two motors. what do you guys think ?

i know theres a way to do a legal swap in cali but it seems far fetched :

need an 2000+ aristo motor (been lookin almost impossable to find)
has to retain all emissions equipment (egr etc.)
then has to pass smog/ sniffer
and get it running with no CELs

I don't think the cops would actually pull you over and check what's under your hood..not that I would know of. Not unless you going to do something really wild on the highway....then what the chances are...

thats what i figured lMao unless I put a load *** BOV and dump next to a cop i should be fine these cars get boosted so rarely in cali they prob wouldnt even suspect it .

so should i try and get a 2000 gte vvti and get the referee to look at and attemp to get it legalized or should i say F it and just get a 98 gte vvti and slap that **** in and hope all goes well lol

wow... do you guys have check points every half a mile and get strip searched prior to entering every building?

CA is insane. They should have better thigns to do then pull citizens over to check whats under their hoods.

Yeah, but we have great weather, well here in SoCal we do. Besides, cities in California are ranked among the top cities in the US. Also, smog laws apply to people living in or near the large cities. If you live in the outer sections, you are smog exempt.

OP, unless you got someone to hook you up, I would not count on just trying to bribe a smog shop.

i don't think many lexus cars get pulled over and get checked under the hood..i know they do that a lot to honda's and acura's cuz the swaps for those cars are so common that everyone does them..i know i had one on my civic before i got rid of it
