rubbing noise
Hello, I have an 03 GS430 that has 95K on it. I recently had front and rear rotors along with pads changed. I am now hearing a rubbing noise when I go into a turn or the road is bending. Any suggestion on what it could be? I checked the rotors to see if there are any scratches that could be a result of the rubbing but did not see anything. Could it be from the Lower ball joint?
Thanks
Thanks
I doubt it's the lower ball joint, that would be more of a popping or clanking sound.
Try setting in the rotors and brakes. Just do as Red Bully says and do a series of high and low speed braking... Be a little hard on them too.

What kind of rubbing noise? Tire, brakes, metal to metal, plastic, etc... There are many things that can cause rubbing, try and focus where the sound is coming from and what you think think it sound like, so we can try to help you. Also, please included any mods that you have done, if any.
Take a look at this posting and see if it reflects the issue you are experiencing:

I had the same issue when I replaced the OEM rotors.
Take a look at the backing plate behind the rotor. It is black in color and has a very small lip.
Flip your rotor around and look at the rotor hat. You should see a mark ground into the back of the rotor hat.
This is your grinding noise. To remedy it, you can remove that little backing plate or take a grinder and remove a few MM of the edge on the front of the lip on the backing plate.
I had to this this on both rear backing plates. No problems since.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. The rotors were all after market bought from TireRack. The Rubbing noise only happens when I am going around a bend like a traffic circle. Driving on a straight road there are no noises.
Thanks
