Have you not heard of them?! I know you have heard of JL, so in comparison...
You can get their level 3 12's I believe for about $250 and it will slam all over a PAIR of w6 12s! and they have 7 series now. I heard 4 of their entry level 8's (about 80 a piece) and I swear to the audio gods that they slammed like a pair of 15's!
but then you can brig up DD audio (digital designs) and they have a pair of 8's that I believe are around $150 a piece that sound like a sweet pair of 12's! the best part of those DD's (to put in to perspective) you know how all woofers/speakers have terminals to attach wires to to your amp? well the DD 8's have a set of RAW 8awg wires directly out of the voice coil that hang out!! LoL, frickin sweet! (i'll look for pics)

oh yea and if you only KNEW how they designed the motor structure of those beasts! frickin SWEET!!
not sure if you know how to choose a woofer, but one with the highest excursion will produce more bass. why? cause its moving more air and THATS how you compare bang for the buck! not so much by sound..
RE (if I havent missed anything new) has the highest rating in excursion which is like 3.5 inches! which is INSANE!!!! and theres a video floating around of a prototype of one they are working on that can move 2.5" ONE DIRECTION!!! thats 5 inches of excursion!! That video is effin SICK!!! I just dont know how to get it.. I'll try to get a link or something...

Here we go... as you can see they are a long way from creating it. The excursion is there, but its not really in good control. Either way if and when this comes out, its REALLY going to be a beast!! (No audio)

go to realmofexcursion.com there you can seed ENDLESS videos of pretty much EVERY woofer out there and you can see the effects of MANY woofers. (and remember though to all, yes you can get cheap crap to hit hard, but what you pay for is for how long they can go slamming like that)

DUDE! You're talking about one of the big boys (about the 5th level up)!! they do 1500watts every morning when they wakeup! 
they're like $700-$800 bucks! and these are rated VERY mildly! The XXX is rated at 2000rms and can handle 20,000watt burbs and can handle I believe it was 10,000watts for 30 seconds... on Realm of Excursion, one of the "fun" things people do is hook woofers up to wall sockets to destroy them... well some guy got the xxx and hooked it up and couldnt fry it for shiits! At one point he popped the breaker! LoL.. what sucks is that they used to be pretty cheap, but got a little cockey and also USAmps bought them out so prices went up (but so did quality and technology) a short quick history, the guy who created them began his venture in his garage and was mass producing them in his garage! nuts... (they have always been made to order till now) ANYWAYS! you can get away with the SX which goes for under $250. Now mind you, its all in the box! you can get a bad *** woofer in a crappy box and just kill the sound! Even an SE can kick some ***... The only thing with the SX and SE is you lose that pretty basket/magnet.

Anyone have dual kickers L7 w/ a complete face like the one in the above picture and still have access to their spare? I would love to have something like that for my set-up.

my trunk pics.. 2-250w concept highs amps. 2-1250w concept sub amps. 5 cubic feet ported box tune to 35hz. 5-kinetic 1400 batteries. 2 -12 9512cf digtal designs subs.
