Inside door latch problem. Help!!

Inside door latch problem. Help!!
My drivers side inside door handle won't open the door. I now have to roll down the window and open the door using the outside handle a-la hood style
. I think this may be an easy fix but I would like a little guidance from the board.
I really don't want to take it in and have the dealer rape me with no lube over this but it is getting quite annoying rolling the window down to get out of my car
