NEW GS Info
Hi, Everyone:
Here is the latest redesigned GS info and other Lexus models for those of you might be interesting:
New generation GS will be available fall of 2003 or early 2004. The new GS will have a AWD wagon join its lineup to compete with Euro sport wagon like Audi Allroad and MB E-Class wagon. AWD sedan has not been determined as of now, but will be most likely in a later introduction. GS3 will using a high output power 3.3L V6 and will be most like re-named as GS330 or alike. No other detail info about GS430 at this time.
As those of you waiting for new RX, it will be redesigned in spring of 2003 and will use the same 3.3L V6 with less output compare 3.3L used in the new GS. New RX will be 11 inches longer than current model, but will have no third row seats option. Those will be remain for GX and LX only.
AS for the rest of Lexus models, LX will have a refreshed grill and other minor update for next year model; ES will get the same 3.3L V6 as RX around the same time; IS will get high output 3.3L V6 for 2004; and LS will get its fresh next fall. A new V12 sedan and sports car are considered after 2005......
Until next update, happy shopping and motoring:-)

R U absolutely positively sure it's not 2002 fall?
cuz that's when it's supposed to come out as the 2003 model, which follows the 5 year redesign schedule since the first gen. GS.
after all, i dont believe anyone untill i see the actual car at the dealers.

There was a major performence different between I6 & V6 during old days. With newer and more advanced technologies development, the performence gap has been reduced largely in recent years. V6 will offer more efficent and smoth advantages over I6. From production point of view, manufacture can save a lots of cost by stream line there engine products. I think that is the main reason for Toyota to using V6 instead I6 to stream line their products.
To sleeper:
Yes. That is for 2004, not 2003 redesign. Lexus will offer a GS300 Sports Edition (like L-turned) for this spring and carry out for the model year 2003. New GS will not be available until late 2003. There is a posiibility not even until spring of 2004 due to the introduction of AWD GS wagon.

Hey...since you have this information, which seems pretty realistic and expected, would you happen to know if the following picture has any relevance to the new GS, or juss bs to **** of CL members

To LeXGs43Rx3:
The picture that you have referred has no links to new GS. I do not have a final released photo yet, but I can describe that will be more closed to current version. I think that you can have a idea how M-B E-class chaged from current to the new 2003. More slick but retain the signiture figure. Which means that people will be easy to identify on the road that is still a GS.
No I am not working for Toyota, nor any Lexus dealer. All I can tell you is that I am working for a major corporation has very close relationship with auto manufactury, includes Toyota...... :-)

Thanks for the info...especially that the pic was BS! I like the current styling and would like to see it a little more slick and aggresive. By any chance, have you heard of any type of GS being released as M5 competition? Please keep us up to date, you seem reliable. Peace!
