NEW GS Info
He drives a fully decked out S500 (full Brabus treatment) and has a couple other "classics" (a Jaguar E-Type, etc..) He gets to see a LOT of the new cars before anyone else so I trust his judgement.
I just need to make sure that no one gets shafted by me posting the "likeness". I don't give a flying f*ck if Lexus is mad at me, but I don't want to get anyone else in hot water...
Wonder if I should part my car out or just sell it "whole"....

That pic has been discussed on CL in the past. I think the consensus was that it was definitely a photoshipped pic, using the new ES body, modified GS headlights, GS grill, LS430 foglights, etc.
I don't think ANYONE, especially not manaray, would be selling their car for that one

Okay fellas here is my idea (since I am a pretty good guesser
)
Longer wheelbase by 1 maybe 2 inches.
Length increase to 190/191 in.
Height increase to 57 in (may stay the same)
So naturally the car is bigger.
Keeps the basic C-pillar design.
trunk slightly longer,
I think the rear window will keep the basic window design. I was VERY surprised to see Lexus have split rear windows on ALL it's sedans (used to be none).
It will lose the lower body cladding (even though currently it is the same color as the car). Lower bosy panels will look like LS and ES (though I thought the lower body panels visually lowered the car).
We will LOSE the Quad headlights (cause E/5/Jag has em, no longer AS distinctive).
Grill will retain VERTICAL slants.
Just a guess!

To all GS lovers, specially those of GS shoppers, for 2003, Lexus will most likely to discontinue the GS300 until reintrducing the 2004 GS330. To further boost GS sales and separates the ES and GS line, for 2003, GS430 price will be largely REDUCED!!!!!!! Detail pricing will not be announced until fall of 2002, but you can expecting under $50K for a GS430 with common options. In general, you could see about $4,000 price drop from current price point. Then, as introducing of new 2004 model line, a new price structure will be in place by then.

I think that the GS wont be as good as it is now, I just dont see how they could design it to be better, I love the GS bodystyle more so then the BMW's and Mercedez cars that are in the same class, No other car that i've driven... gives me that proud feeling when ur walking into the parking lot, and u hit the unlock button and it goes <beep><beep> and people look at the car, Ahhhh I love my car -=)

I agree with bitkahuna..
you are kinda contradicting. You said they want to separate the ES and the GS... then shouldn't they either lower ES's price or increase GS's price in order to signify the seperation ?!
Just take a look of current ES pricing, with fully loaded ES is about same cost of GS300 with leather or so. There is something else Lexus will do for the first time, LS430 will have a new body style next yest as well. This is the first time exus will remodel a car after only two model year........

Until next update, happy shopping and motoring:-)

I am seriously considering either the GX or the redesigned RX, but I was really hoping they would'nt touch the RX's size

Are you absolutely sure they will increase length by a WHOPPING 11 (eleven) inches?????. Was it a typo and did you actually mean 1.1 inches (one point one inches)???.......that, somehow, just doesn't seem right to me!!!.
The GX's length as per the news release from Lexus is 188.2 inches. The RX's current length is 180.1 inches (adding 11 inches would make it 191.1 inches - 3 inches LONGER THAN THE GX?????? and almost as long as the ULTRA-LARGE LX 470 (192.5 in.)???
......doesn't seem right because the RX is supposed to be SMALLER than the GX.I am saying this right now that myself including many of my friends anxiously waiting for the redesigned RX will be extremely pissed off
if this 11 inch increase is in fact true!!!.........if this happens, it will defeat the very purpose of the RX 300's existence - it's compact, fun-to-drive, manuverable, zippy character which is the MAIN REASON to buy it over that monstrosity called the Acura MDX which is an EXCUSE FOR A BIG BUS!!!!.....If Lexus really made it 11 inches longer I'd have to say that they're marketing dept has gone insane.......What's the purpose in having 3 SUVs all of them very big and serving only one market segment???......because all of my friends (some of them single, some of them with SMALL families - no kids or maybe one kid) including myself will look elsewhere if this should happen
......well there's talk of that exciting new BMW X3 (smaller version of X5)....yum, yum!!!Please tell me that this was a typing mistake and not really true
.....I'm so upset already!!

11 inches is not typo! Those are overall length and does not mean that will have bigger passager volume. Although those numbers (includes the GX figures) are all pre-public released information. But it is very close to the final figure. LX will have significant increase in size as for the next generation arrives.
Hope that helps.

I strongly doubt that Lexus will ever discontinue the GS300, since 1. the sporty design just came out, it is not logical to discontinue it the next year 2. GS300 outsalls GS430 in almost at 4-1 ratio, why would Lexus ever wanna discontinue it. 3. ES and GS has a totally different market segment, ES is never meant to step in GS' territory.

Ok If they discontinue the GS330, to redesign it to a GS430, and drop the price by like 4 or 5 grand, then when would they deside to redesign the GS430? doesn't make too much sense to me
