Default Fuel Injector Service

Im trying to find a good way or place to get my fuel system serviced. I dont want to goto the dealer being they are way over priced. I thought about instant oil change places, but they seem like they just pour injector cleaner in tank and dont really do extensive cleaning. I have used sea foam before and thought about that rout, but wasnt sure if that cleaned the injectors when sucked through vaccum line. Let me know of some ideas that you all know or have even done that had good success.

Seafoam doesn't clean the injectors when you suck it in through the vacuum hose. I wouldn't even bother with those instant oil places. They are a joke.

I had mine serviced at a friend's shop. We hooked up the system and ran my car at idle for 30 minutes. My injectors were definitely not working as it should because there was a pressure difference through the fuel line before and after the service. I also went from about 18-19mpg highway to about 22-23mpg. Combined city/highway went from about 16mpg to about 20mpg.

So is there a specific name for this kind of service .... and or specific shop equipment I should ask the shop about ?

here is what the equipment looks like:

http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/otc7448.html

They mix gasoline and the fuel injector cleaner into the canister and then hook it up to the air compressor, set to PSI to OEM spec, turn on the engine and let it idle for 30 minutes or so. You turn off the engine, wait 5-10 minutes, then turn on the engine. I had a good amount of smoke coming out when I was done.

Make sure they disconnect the fuel pump connector in the back before turning on the engine, otherwise you're going to be pumping gas into the engine bay

Henry, where did you get this done & what was the price? The bushings & ball joints are working great. Thanks again.

John, I got my car serviced at a shop across the street from Dynamics. It's my friend's buddy's shop. I dont know the price, because he did it for me as a favor since I detailed his car for him. If you're interested, I can PM you the number.

It's diy'able as long as you have the fuel injector cleaner canister and a LARGE air compressor, one that is at least 30gal otherwise you wont be able to run your car for long. Then again, the cost of the tools are beyond $120.
