Default Fuel Induction/Injection Service

So this might apply to people with 300s moreso than people with 350s and V8s, but I got a fuel induction service done at the dealer for $180 and I think it was worth it. My idle is smoother, a tad higher, and my gas mileage was higher on my bi-weekly trip home from Albany than it used to be. The dealer fed BG44k in through the intake and something in the fuel rail, I assumed they were two different services, but they did both. I probably could have just bought a can of sea foam and done it myself but was worried about something going wrong. Figured I'd throw this out there as all the threads on here said the service wasn't worth it or the thread wasn't about the troublesome GS300s or IS250s.

I think your dealer lied to you or misinformed you.

I know bg products really well and bg44k does not get fed through the fuel lines and it also does go through the induction.

Bg44k goes into your gas tank. My buddy is a very experienced mechanic and i have bought the actually bg fuel induction apparatus tool to do the actual fuel service with the right products.

I assumed BG44k was just the generic name for their product, shows how much I know. That being said I took off the engine covers to make sure they did it, you could tell things had been taken apart and there were greasy fingerprints on the intake, the fuse box, and other places related to the service. Regardless, whatever it was worked .

How much did it cost you? I know the full fuel bg sevice service aint cheap...at least a few Benjamin Franklins.

Yeah, bg products are the best...i have actually used all there products. Best out there on the market.

I think your dealer might have just poured bg44k down into your intake system lol....which I heard does a ok job....but the proper procedure for bg 44k it goes into your gas tank.

$180 without tax. I know this differs from the upper engine cleaning which is about $500 according to the other dealer I go to, but figured it was a bit excessive.

And yeah they said they did that and put something through the fuel rail, and like I said you could see it had all been taken apart. But as I said before, the car is definitely running smoother so for what I paid it was worth it

Im considering selling my bg fuel system induction apparatus master tool kit. Let me know if you might be interested...if you are make sure you know a mechanic or watch lots of YouTube videos on how to use it.

Save yourself lots of money and you can also do it for all other vehicles.

What so you guys think of this procedure for injectors:

Just curious, when pouring seafoam to fuel tank you do it when fuel tank is near empty then put seafoam then dill the gas tank? Is that the correct way?

As for too engine clean, same results with seafoam? Want to try this on my gs:

Well it may not be necessary, but I doubt it'll hurt anything! Just be sure that you have the fuel line disconnect tool and techstream (GS350 has both DI and PI)

Yeah I believe this is to mix the seafoam thoroughly with the gasoline. However, seafoam probably won't do much – gasoline is already an excellent solvent, and as long as you're using good quality gas there shouldn't be much crap in the fuel system to begin with. On the other hand, it probably won't hurt anything

I would use the Toyota chemicals

Keep us updated though, I'm curious to see if you notice a difference after the cleanings!

For the GS300 I would recomend you do a walnut blast into your intake ports. This is mostly used by bmw's and mini because they suffer a lot with carbon build up aswell. What they do is they take off the intake manifold and use a media blaster and spray the intake ports this removes almost all the carbon on the valves and the intake walls. They charge from $300 to $500 for the service

You can do it yourself but by using cleaners and scrapers. You take off the intake manifold and use long scrapers that can reach down to the valves and with a strong cleaner gentle scrape the valves.

Top induction cleaning are great but just a temporary help, the walnut or scraping youll get a lot more miles out of it
