Smile chrome grilles

hi, i heard you can make your gs's grilles chrome by removing the black paint , any of you guys know good remover thats easy to use.

i have seen posts of removing paint to get the chrome showing, but it seems risky.

so anything?

Get a gel based paint remover, my advise don't let it sit to long 3-5mins at most

Go to home depot and pick up an aerosol can of paint stripper. Just make sure you use some gloves because paint stripper isn't skin-friendly.

Double up on those gloves cause that stuff burns.

yeah i read that, but it seems like everyone have a hard time removing the stripper product itself once its on for 15 mins or so

anyone know an easy way to remove it once its on?

I took off my chromed 98 grill and put on the SportDesign grill I bought from the guy you got your wheels from. The SD grill looks the same as the 01+ grill but the vertical slats are chrome and the rest is gunmetal. I'll take a picture sometime.

Most people who had problems have the 98-00 grill. The 01-05 grills seems to have different type of coating that's a lot easier to strip.

cuhz i would run to home depot right now and get it done by today and drive tomorrow.
haha.

what should i use to get the stripper compound off once its on for 10 mins?
