When does this happen? At idle? Before or after your car has warmed up?

My temperature gauge doesn't even work and stays at the bottom until like 10 minutes into the drive. Is that what your situation is?

My guage stays pretty lowwhen I first start it in the AM. It is getting pretty cold now and it will take a while for it to start to move. I am not sure about 10mins. I have a GS400 98 model.

Once my temp guage gets to the middle bar it has never moved. I think it is the top of the middle bar.

Hope this helps some.

No but like he said, change your thermostat. It's a 10 min job.

Its mad easy to change your thermostat.
You pop off the hose, pop off the thermostat and pop on the new one. Plug the hose and done.

I'll see if I take a picture of where it is so you can do it.
Get ready to loose lots of coolant though.

Also if you are near your 90K I suggest you get your Tbelt done also.
Its not that hard if you are careful and know how your way with tools.
