- I have a 1998 GS400 with a navigation system that works intermittently...meaning, at times it works correctly but then loses track and goes off into neverland, and MAY, eventually, find its way back.
- My software is dated 2001. Would a software update fix my navi problems?
- If so, WHERE can I purchase the update?
- I was told, by Lexus, that that software update is not available through the dealership.

its avaliable...the last update has a July 2004 date on it.

The 98-00 nav requires a hard drive exchange - they are very easy to replace in the nav ECU. You can get one from: http://www.lexus-parts.com/parts_detail.asp?id=88792

2004 is quite a long time ago for a nav update.
