Ok, I'm sure someone has a thread on this but I'm just not seeing it. When I start up the car and the climate control system 'wakes up', it makes noises like an instant coffee maker. I don't recall getting the Mr. Coffee option with the car, so what is this and is there something to do about it that doesn't cost a fortune?

 

Probably the actuator in the blower is getting old. I'm not sure what the exact repair process involves, but I'd guess either swap it for a new one or re-grease the gears.
