i went to a local muffler shop called south coast mufflers. anyway, they had a full stailess steel exhaust there, including down pipe! however, price is $2000! aparently, the owner jim shared a booth with Fujitsubo at the Sema show and the guy hooked him up with the gs400 exhaust.

Sasha,

You got the idea! The NA 2JZ-GE just doesn't make enough power to utilize the catback exhaust system... also, the piping in these systems are also a tad bit too wide. Besides the sound, performance is purely psychological. Remember, "these" systems were designed for the V300 and in GReddy's case the GS400.

GScorpion,

Sorry to say but the GS300 is not a sportscar... the 400/430 is. It says so on the insurance.

RA,

I think one of the reasons Fujitsubo systems cost so much is because these systems are not mass-produced and hand-made meticulously by master welders. In Japan in most cases you have to preorder a system a month and a half in advance. You'll know if you've seen a Fujitsubo when a system does not display noticible welding marks or "scars." Just think of Fujitsubo as the Tiffany (Crystal Division) of Exhaust Systems. Back to your question... you're going to have to convince Fujitsubo to mass produce their systems which conflicts with their "Shibui" philosophy.

Fujitsubo has been my dream exhaust system ever since. However, since I haven't figured out a way to get it, I settle w/APEX.

So ALL catbacks are not suitable for the 2JZ-GE?

Some exhaust systems note both "2JZ-GE" and "2JZ-GTE" with the same muffler and piping. Does that mean the pipes are made to better match the characteristics of the inline-6 but doesn't provide maximum airflow for the turbo? Or that just don't care about losing power on the S300 models because they're so not-in-demand in Japan?

Or they just say that because it'll fit on a S300?

I think that we have misunderstood one another...I have a GS400 and thought you were saying that the JIC exhaust would not be compatable with the GS400. When you were trying to let me know that the JIC was not compatable with the GS300. Is this correct? I think I am on the right path now. I will more than likely be getting this JIC exhaust in the very near future.

Don't tell my insurance agent about the sports car thing-ok?

No it's not okay

I try to avoid putting things that'll slow my car down. That's why i'm going to use 18" rims and no heavy stereo equipment for me. I'm already pretty heavy myself so no more added weight. And no exhaust that'll considerably make my car crawl.

I totally agree with GlobeCLK. So far, all the mod I done to the car have been performance oriented. I am not interest in spending money on the look of the car. Ie: Aero Dynamic Kit or 20” Rims. If the Mod can’t proven to speed up the car.. I’ll pass and save my money for a worthy mod. As far as wheels? 18” is the most I want for my car. It has the look and practical of the street. I don’t understand how anyone with 20” rim drive around the street… especially in a street race where avoid pot hole was not possible at 100+ MPH.
