Question JIC exhaust???

Can some one tell me about the JIC cat-back exhaust for the GS400:

1) quality of fitment
2) quality of material used
3) sound of the system...I imagine that is exhaust a little louder than most.....has anyone actually had the opportunity to hear this system.

I currently have the Tanabe Hyper Medallion cat-back exhaust and I am thinking about changing. If somebody has actually heard both systems I would like to hear your opinion about both systems.

LexusRules,

Yes, I have seen the Overboost articles. That article is what got all this started. I really like the looks of the JIC exhaust and from the photos in the article the craftmanship (fit and finish) looks first rate.

I still like my Tanabe exhaust but I really like the looks of that JIC. If I do this my Tanabe exhaust will be up for sale cheap.

Thumbs up JIC Exhaust

JIC Exhaust?

Good ****, its imported by John Kaneda at Ziel Motorsports. He's the guy that tuned my suspension. His shop is meticulous. His work meticulous. He's a porsche rally cup racer from Japan. HARDCORE. Watchout for the upcoming frontcover of TURBO he built the 500+ horsepower 300zx. Regarding work on my GS only the best hands have touched.

That's a pretty impressive piece of hardware, and relatively inexpensive too! I hadn't really given much thought to getting an exhaust system, mainly because of added noise, but the article seems to indicate it shouldn't be that loud. I'd be interested to hear from anyone that actually has this system. Thanks for posting the link and pic TLEX!

You pay for quality.

Remember, this is a full cat-back exhaust.

overboost says its quiet.. but thats in terms of honda rice and stuff too dont forget... in terms of lexus loudness it will be one of the louder exhaust because its cat-back and has bullet style mufflers...

Default Jon Kaneda

I have a little story to share about this guy. Yes, Jon Kaneda supposedly is a good tuner but he doesn't live up to his words. I dealt with this guy half a year ago. When I was converting my car into the V300 platform he wanted in on the car. Over a three week period I have been discussing what his shop, Ziel Motorsports, could do for me and what my car could do for him. He wanted to work on three things. 1) He wanted to customize a driveshaft for my car. 2) He wanted to create a break kit using Brembo and Porsche components (some of you guys might have remembered this). 3) Use JIC/Bullet components such as the exhaust and suspension on the car. He basically told me that "I can do everything" in a broken English. It sounded cool and all. After everything was set I towed my car to his shop from Huntington Beach to Downey. When my car got there he said he didn't want to touch the driveshaft for liability reasons. Basically he ignored me and let me and a female friend wait outside the shop. He later came out and apologized to her and ignored me. WTF! I don't care about any good reviews from ClubLexus or OverBoost, but this guy is on my _sshole list along with Joel Luz of Toysport. Just thought to share this little tid bit with everybody.

Also this guy had the nerves to talk down/smack about John Kuroyama of HKS and Fastrax. What a joke.

By the way, this exhaust system is similar to the Blitz NUR spec (way cheaper and quality as good) which is a Fujitsubo Regalis Design knock-off. C-one also has a unit identical to this. Also, I wouldn't recommend this exhaust to a N/A GS300.

v300 or anybody else

why would you not recommend this exhaust system for the GS400?

Do you think it maybe to loud? I have the Tanabe exhaust now and it is not exactly quite by any means.

Do you think it will hurt performance too much because of reduced back pressure?

v300.......what I need to know is more about is this exhaust system and it sounds like you may know a little bit more about this exhaust than you have shared. You stated "....I wouldn't recommend this exhaust to a N/A GS300." Why would you say that?
