steering rack??

steering rack??
I have a GS400 with 125,000 miles on and need some advice. As I am driving if I fit a small bump in the road or a change in asphalt the cars will pull either right of left
.
I have changed the bushings, the tie rods, alignment, balance, but still pretty much the same isssue. Do you think the steering rack might be bad?
I seen a website selling the steering rack for $299.00, but I dont want to just throw money away if thats not the problem. I dont remember it like this when I got the car almost five years ago, but now I cant stand it. The pulling left/right over the smallest bump, I have read about slop in the steering but just seems there should be something that must not be right.

there's a hex bolt on it that you can turn to tighten the steering rack. just search on suspension.
also, did you seriously change all the bushings? there's also control arm bushings to change.
if you did, then your front tires are bad.

Control arm bushings I did not change. Just changed the steering rack bushings.
I did tighten up the the nut on the rack you mentioned as well. Made things a little better, but theres got to be something else.
Did you change the controll arm bushings? Will that tighten up the front end and the pulling left and right over small bumps?

Control arm bushings I did not change. Just changed the steering rack bushings.

Also, these bushings will show more of its effects with stiffer suspension and sway bars. tires affect how the front end handles and travels as well. In fact most of the time, it's the tires.

How are your tires? I had the same problem. I changed everything. My steering rack worked fine too. It all came down to the tires.

I use the incremental system for the power steering fluid. I use a turkey baster and pull out as much fluid as I can from the resevoir, and then refill it with new fluid. After doing it 3-4 times, the fluid was new.
Well if you have air in the system, then you probably have a broken seal somewhere in the system.
I dont remember if there was any difference with the new fluid, mainly beause my steering was great ever since putting on the new tires.
