Why do people remove the "L"???
That's not as bad as having your rear "L" symbol JACKED from a nice shopping area like newport beach fashion island. Some *** jacked my GOLD rear "L" 2 days before I was gonna replace it with a Chromed one. Since when did a Lexus turn into a Honda or Acura??!!
OK...
I have all my emblems shaved. The ONLY place my car has any clue of its Lexus lines is "L" on the steering wheel. My rear tail section is JDM "Aristo" and my front "L" has been replaced with a billet "Veilside" logo (I honestly would prefer to have a phantom type grille with no badging, but have been having problems finding one I like).
Why? Because it is different. Judging by the people posting on this board, everyone has purchased their Lex yes, for the unmatched quality, but also to stand out in a crowd.
FutureGS said if he had his Lex he would sport all over town to show it was a Lex, he obviously wants to draw attention. Heres a secret, there are thousands of Lexus emblazoned rides out there. They will look at your ride, know what it is and continue. You will not have people hanging out their window at a stoplight saying, "Oh my God. Thats beautiful, who makes it?" That is real attention.
I personally, while I enjoy it, do not care much about the attention. A kind word from this board is worth 30 on the street. But since my hobby is my car and I love the game of attracting sponsorship, attention to the car is a necessity. Anything that I can do to keep peoples attention and draw a crowd, especially at shows, is well worth the effort.
Sorry for over dramatizing it and for the length!

Hey I've seen many GS's on this board that have their front and rear "L's'' removed fromt heir grill and rear. Why in gods name would you want to do that? Do you people not want others to know what company the car is? Their are many people out their who won't know what it is, because many people aren't car knowledgeable. I would sport the "L" everywhere I go if I had my GS right now =]
The last thing I want is to be seen as some rich snotty yuppie. True, a Lexus is a luxury car, but if he or she can only tell the quality of the car by looking at the badges, I dont want comments like "hey nice car". Also, the trunk looks cleaner w/o badges. I bought the car for the car, not to show off people I own a Lexus.
