Both SRT and WR use the same type of ECU which you need to solder it to your original ECU. It does break warranty. However, if you have a good relationship or connection with your dealer, they may seem to neglect it.

Just to let you know that even with BImmers use a piggie back chip that is installed inside the stock ECU. Almost all Tuners have it so that you will need to install a chip in the ECU or just add a piggie back ECU. No matter how you look at it, your still making changes to the ECu to get the power.
As for warranty questions? its a yes and no but over all if installed and tune correctly. You will not run into any problems.
Other than that the WR intake isn't loud at all. If anything you'll like to sound that the intake makes but alway ask others that have the intake for their opinion.
